Lifeguard

Lifeguard

Lifeguard (Asher Case, Isaac Lowenstein, Kai Slater) is an art-rock band on the cutting edge of Chicago's young and thriving indie rock scene, including likeminded acts such as Horsegirl and Friko. The loose collective, sometimes referred to as Hallogallo, takes its name after a zine created by Lifeguard singer and guitarist Kai Slater. Channeling the masters of 90's indie rock without falling prey to pure nostalgia, Lifeguard synthesizes new and old art-forward influences into an unfettered and hook-laden sprawl. Recorded (appropriately so) by Mike Lust at local rock institution Electrical Audio, the EP highlights the bands innate energy as a live trio. “When we're playing live it's completely dependent on the crowd and how we feed off each other's energy...the crowd can talk. It's a conversation!” says the band. They have been covered extensively in Bandcamp Daily and The Chicago Reader.
